Kindy Patch Largs, located a short drive from Maitland, has an exciting opportunity for a passionate Childcare Cook to join our close-knit team.

 

This role is being offered on a part-time basis, working 22 hours per week from 9am - 1.30pm daily. 

 

Kindy Patch Largs is a homely, unique centre located in a beautiful old church building. We are seeking a dedicated team member with the passion to provide healthy meal choices and to fuel our children. Our Centre is well equipped with resources and programs based on the Early Years Learning Framework curriculum, including a specialised Kindergarten program.

Your skills and qualifications should include:

  • Holding relevant food handling certificates 
  • A current Working with Children Check 
  • Experience and passion for creating healthy children’s meals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • A bright and friendly personality
  • Strong time management skills 
  • The ability to work under pressure and adapt to change 

Your key priorities will be to:

  • Plan nutritionally balanced meals consisting of five-food groups over the course of the day
  • Preparation of meals, including but not limited to: morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late snack
  • Periodically and seasonally review menu plans and submit to the Centre Manager for approval to ensure they adhere to centre budgets
  • Create menus on a 4 week rotation and display in an appropriate location within the centre
  • Ensure complete familiarity with special dietary needs of children within the centre
  • Maintain a high level of health & safety standards are maintained at all times
